The tom gunn story began mid 2007 when passionate shoe
designers Gabrielle Thompson and Shannon Gunn resigned from their
Australian based footwear design positions and relocated to Italy to
create their first shoe collection… their namesake, tom gunn, was
born…Stemming from a shared passion for individual shoe design and a
inability to find shoes they truly loved, Gaby & Shannon set out to
do what they loved most.
Training at the prestigious Ars Apel School in Milan, their passion was
further fulled as they learnt about the importance of craftmanship &
design, ensuring each shoe is purely a work of art and nothing but
exquisite.The first tom gunn collection was lauched mid 2008 and the
label has since become touted as the “next big luxury label to come out
of Australia” (Grazia) and described as ’sophisticated with an edge’
(buyers & editors alike), mostly known for its unique designs,
luxurious materials and unparalleled quality.Made in Italy using
beautiful leather such as Nappa (sourced from some of Italy’s top
tanneries and also suppliers to famed brands such as CoSTUME NATIONAL,
Gucci and Longchamp) and matte python skins, the AW10 collection drop
has us completely lusting after the electric blue hue and shiny
lacquered heels… even more so…
the Marnie heel (below) in Electric Blue & Python is available
exclusively in Australia at Chasing Bow… & Gaby tells us she plans
to wear her’s with “absolutely everything!” this winter xxx
